The 20th anniversary of the Chamber of Judicial Officers of Lithuania was marked by two exceptional achievements: one of them will complement the shelves of legal literature, the other will decorate the interior of the Chamber of Judicial Officers of Lithuania.
Published in an edition of 1,000 copies, the commentary aims to summarize and systematize judicial practice and legal doctrine related to the enforcement process. Authors of the publication – prof. Egidija Tamošiūnienė, prof. Vigintas Višinskis, members of the Presidium of the Chamber of Judicial Officers of Lithuania judicial officers Inga Karalienė, Svetlana Kastanauskienė, Vitalis Milevičius, Laurynas Lukšys, Sonata Vaicekauskienė and director or the Chamber of Judicial Officers of Lithuania Dovilė Satkauskienė. Reviewers – professor hab. dr. Vytautas Nekrošius and dr. Žilvinas Trebeiza.
For the first time in the 20-year history of private judicial officers in Lithuania, a scientific and practical commentary on Part VI of the Code of Civil Procedure has been published on the initiative of the Chamber of Judicial Officers of Lithuania. As stated in the introduction of the publication, the civil process does not conclude with a court decision. The implementation of the constitutional principle of the right to judicial defence, the effective defence of the violated or disputed subjective rights or interests protected by law depends on how court decisions are enforced. Despite the importance of the enforcement process in protecting violated rights, Lithuanian legal doctrine has not paid much attention to this topic until now. It is anticipated that the publication will fill the gap with content relevant to many legal specialists.
A unique artistic glass panel titled “The Circle of Partnership” now illuminates the hall of the Chamber of Judicial Officers of Lithuania. The piece was created by the widely known glass artist Remigijus Kriukas, who has been an active participant in exhibitions and creative symposiums across the Baltic and Scandinavian countries, Poland, Germany, France, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, the United Arab Emirates, China and other countries since 1985. Co-authors – judicial officers, hand-wrote their thoughts and wishes on the base of the glass composition. The idea is seemingly simple, but it was not born immediately.
Although it weighs about 300 kg, the artwork appears visually light and graceful. Mirrored glass bubbles at the centre of the panel revolve in a common vortex that seems to come alive, „reacting“ to each movement or flash of light. All handmade bubbles are visually similar, but also different – each one is unique, just like the members of the professional community of judicial officers.
The festive part of the event was led and sung by opera soloist Jomantė Šležaitė-Paukštė, accompanied by jazz pianist, composer Artūras Anusauskas.
The Chamber of the Judicial Officers of Lithuania was established on March 7, 2003, during the first meeting of judicial officers.
