Presidium

The Presidium of the Chamber of Judicial Officers of Lithuania shall be the managing body of the Chamber of Judicial Officers of Lithuania. It shall have five members, including the Chair of the Presidium, who shall be elected by the judicial officers’ meeting for a term of four years. A judicial officer may be elected a member of the Presidium of the Chamber of Judicial Officers of Lithuania, including the Chair of the Presidium, for no more than two terms in succession. The Chair of the Presidium of the Chamber of Judicial Officers of Lithuania shall act as a representative of the Chamber of Judicial Officers of Lithuania.

The Presidium of the current composition was elected at the 24th meeting of the judicial officers on April 26, 2023.

In performing the functions assigned to the Chamber of Judicial Officers of Lithuania, the Presidium of the Chamber of Judicial Officers of Lithuania shall:

  • inspect the organisation of judicial officers’ practice;
  • put forward proposals to the judicial officers’ meeting on issues relating to judicial officers’ practice;
  • insure third party professional liability of judicial officers;
  • organise in-service training courses and seminars for judicial officers;
  • may request that judicial officers provide information necessary for the performance of the functions of the Chamber of Judicial Officers of Lithuania;
  • institutes or refuse to institute disciplinary proceedings against a judicial officer;
  • perform other functions stipulated in the regulations of the Chamber of Judicial Officers of Lithuania and the rules of procedure of the Presidium.
